Scion xB Report
The 2013 Scion xB is comfortable ride and has a large spacious interior cabin. The xB has a four-cylinder engine and is offered in both manual and automatic transmissions. The Scion xB gets an estimated 22/28 mpg city/highway. The xB’s offers great seating and cargo space and comes standard with a six-speaker Pioneer stereo, HD Radio, satellite radio and a USB port. Other available options including a BeSpoke stereo upgrade that adds navigation and streaming Internet radio through a smartphone.
The Scion xB is boxy in a ‘in your face’ kind of way. Unabashed and undoubtedly box shaped. To some it looks like a stylish and fashionable urban vehicle while to some it looks like a refrigerator on wheels. But without any doubt the Scion xB is in a class of its own when it comes to the roomy interior and its size. It is the best car for people looking to buy a car that fits into a relatively small space and offers huge amounts of storage space. Before the 2013 version came out, the last major redesign of this car was seen in the 2008 version which included a slightly higher belt line, slightly larger dimensions to fulfill US consumer wants and a boxier shape. For this version the Scion xB gets some minor appearance changes like the new design honeycomb grill, the slightly redesigned headlamps, backup lamps integrated into the tail lamps and larger air intakes on the front bumper. The interior of the car also gets a bit polishing with some functional and some illogical instrument panel placement. Some of the interior designing is nifty and nicely done but some is just plain awful and a victim of overtly fashionable designing. The engine is a 158 horsepower producing 2.4 liter four cylinder unit which has previously been seen in the Toyota Camry and RAV4 vehicles. The engine might seem to be powerful enough to send the xB hurtling around but actually it is pretty sluggish. The electric steering helps to make the car good at lower speeds. The disc brakes give the car decent braking. The second row seats now have decent leg room for actual adults and the front passenger seat also folds down to give more room for storage. There are plenty of interior storage spaces and bins that give the car much room for storing stuff. Overall the ride of the car has been improved too. The Scion xB is one of the safest cars in its category and will probably give you the bang for your buck.
